Dr Sarah Fearn and Mrs Veena Agarwal will be sharing their experience using content analysis in their research in neurodegenerative research.

Sarah is a Senior Research Fellow in the Ageing and Dementia theme of the NIHR ARC Wessex. She has diverse experience of qualitative research, having worked in political science and education research before moving to health research in 2016. Much of her current work focuses on investigating patient and carer perspectives of living with a long-term neurological condition and of service provision. In this talk, she will discuss how content analysis has allowed her to maximise the potential of a mixed method approach and build bridges between qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Veena is a Senior Research Physiotherapist and co-lead of Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Team at University Hospital Southampton since 2011. She is pursuing her PhD part-time exploring Fatigue in Parkinson's Disease using mixed-methods. In this seminar, she will discuss a working example of using content analysis for a survey study investigating features of fatigue in Parkinson's Disease and her experience of using this approach.
